Trauma, loss, love, healing—Rupi Kaur has never shied away from the tough, emotional topics in her poetry. But in 'home body,' her third collection of poems following 'milk and honey' and 'the sun and her flowers,' Kaur divulges into those topics without a filter. TW: She openly discusses depression, rape, abuse, love, and relationships, yet she writes with hope and optimism. Her life experiences have made her stronger; it "pulled a warrior out of her" and has changed her outlook for the better.

After a year of uncertainty, isolation, and a complete world upheaval, 'home body' is an absorbingly relatable collection that captures the struggle with mental health and relationships that I know I, and many others, have faced in 2020. She put into words feelings I haven't been able to articulate. And it was a comfort to knowing my tense and anxious thoughts aren’t unique to me.

"what a relief
to discover that
the aches i thought
were mine alone
are also felt by
so many others"
